The Extraordinary Within
I am drawn to subjects that reveal the hidden ways nature protects and sustains life.
Drawn to the hidden structures within nature, I use light, scale, and careful observation to explore what often goes unnoticed: the seeds protected in a pomegranate, the intricate architecture of a tomato, the unfolding layers of a cabbage. Again and again, I find myself returning to forms that shelter, nourish, and sustain new life.
By enlarging and isolating these familiar subjects, I invite viewers to pause and give their full attention to the extraordinary design embedded within the natural world.
My hope is that these paintings inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world and remind us that even the most familiar things often hold something remarkable beneath the surface.
